FAQ's and Support
Here are some questions our customers have asked and the answers we have provided. If you have any additional queries or need further information, please feel free to contact us by phone or via our contact form.
ROUGH OPENING STATION
Why do you have adjustable and removable fences on your rough opening station?
They are there to assist in lining up components and holding them in place for nailing and creating square sub-assemblies. We realize everyone has different preferences on how they like to work, so we have made these features adjustable.
What is the benefit of having gridlines on the table surface?
Using a tape measure takes time and can become less accurate with use. Using gridlines combined with ¼” hash marks and fences can provide a quick reference with accuracy to a 1/16” without having to reach for a tape and hook it on the end of a piece.
FRAMING STATION
How fast is your framing table compared to an extruder?
This depends on the options you select for the table and the operators skills. We have designed our 3-gun speed dollies to automate the least ergonomic part of the process, freeing up operators for other tasks such as prepping material and placing and tacking sheathing. We have found that existing framing extruders are too slow to match the speed of our sheathing bridge. Our speed dollies move automatically and fire 3 nails at a time, using rollers to align the tops of the studs with the top and bottom plates.
SQUARING TABLE
What size walls does your squaring table support?
Our standard squaring table supports walls from 2' to 12' high and 20’ long. The minimum height may change to 4’ or 7’, depending on the additional options you select for your table. Custom sizes up to 48’ wide and 48' long are possible.
Will your squaring table support raked walls?
Our standard squaring table will support raked walls in a standard orientation up to 12' high. Taller raked walls can be rotated to make use of the table's length – this requires specifying optional scissor frames for your table.
Is your squaring table compatible with other manufacturer's nailing bridges?
Yes, it is designed for an industry-standard height of 750mm.
SHEATING BRIDGE
What would I want Multi-Panel Queuing?
It increases capacity by allowing panels to move to the next station before that station completes the previous panel. This utilization of free space on the line allows work to continue on the upstream station and reduces changeover time between panels.
What size of panels will your nailing bridge handle?
Our standard nailing bridge can nail walls from 2' high to 14' high (this allows for sheathing to run 1’ past the top and bottom of a 12’ panel so it can be tied into the rim board on site). Custom widths up to 25’ are possible. The length of the underlying squaring table governs panel length.
How fast is your nailing bridge?
The speed of the bridge is critical, as it often sets the pace for the entire line and depends on the configuration of the nailing heads. A mid-range configured nailing bridge can nail 1,500 lineal feet of wall panel in a shift, provided the upstream and downstream equipment are designed to keep up. This speed is dependent on the types of wall panels you are producing. For example, building wall panels for the first 2 stories in a 6-story apartment building in a heavy seismic zone may require additional nailing heads to achieve this pace. You can add more heads to speed up the line further.
WALL PANEL LINE
What is included in a Wall Panel line?
Our equipment is designed to be modular and configurable to your particular needs. The size and complexity of individual panels, and the desired capacity, are key considerations in determining how to set up your line most effectively. We can help walk you through this process.
Key elements to a wall panel line can include rough opening stations, buffer conveyors, framing stations, tacking stations, sheathing stations, off-feed stations, and flip tables. Depending on the complexity of your wall assemblies and volume, a line may require more or fewer of each element. Each of these elements can also have varying degrees of automation appropriate to the desired return on investment.
What are the dimensions for your Wall Panel line?
The dimensions of our wall panel line depend on the selected configuration. We have several sample layouts that are useful starting points for a conversation.
What is the cost of your Wall Panel line?
The cost of our wall panel line is dependent on your desired configuration. Our goal is to make automation affordable for everyone, both in the initial purchase price and in ongoing maintenance costs. Our equipment is priced lower than comparable options on the market and built to last. We achieve this by value-engineering our equipment design and using standard components wherever possible. For example, the heads on our sheathing bridge can perform multiple functions, so you need fewer of them than with other brands. Because our equipment is modular, you can also start small and add capabilities as your business grows.
